Just about a couple of weeks ago, I released a free android app called ‘Capital City to Country Quiz’. There are a bunch similar apps in the Google Play Store. The main difference at the time of this writing about my quiz app is that the quiz is set opposite. Most of the capital cities app shows country name to player and the player has to guess the capital city. In the app I created, it shows the capital name and the player has to guess the country. There are few reasons why this is more fun compare to the former.

We are more familiar with country names rather than the cities names. So I think, guessing for the country name is more intuitive. Another good reason is since the player is guessing for the country name, the hints can be more helpful. This game has several hints to guess the country name: map of the country, flag of the country, neighbour countries, what continent this country is in, what other popular cities this country has. These hints make it more fun.

I have put a restriction that a question is locked for an hour if the player answers incorrectly. This encourages the player to use the hints to find the correct answer rather than blindly trying to guess the answer.
